On February 7, 2009 High Plains Raceway hosted the Valentine Gran Prix at the Motorsports Gallery on Larimer Street near downtown Denver. The event included fabulous food, an incredible wine tasting, and champagne handed to guests as they arrived, all graciously donated by Bill Ferguson and The Avenue Grill. Purvis Jewelers and Le Boudoir Fine Lingerie were on hand to show off some gorgeous jewels and beautiful lingerie. They both held trunk shows with models walking through the crowd so everyone could see the pieces up close. Le Boudoir donated 15% of their proceeds from the event to HPR. In addition to the trunk shows, great food and wine, there were lots of door prizes and silent and live auctions held throughout the evening. All of the items were donated by a variety of donors including Famous Dave’s BBQ, Race Central Radio/Kurt Hansen, Mile High Harley Davidson, Club Workshop, Montana Spa & Salon, Evergreen Hair Company, the Garner family, Bob Alder, Go4It Services, Coterie Press, Intrigue Detail, EPS Automotive, The Avenue Grill, The Great Norther Tavern, Geremy Kornreich, Eric Hoos, DU Golf Coach, Denver Athetic Club, Denver Museum of Nature & Science, and Bandimere Speedway. Several items were also donated anonymously.
130 guests attended the event and over $8,000 was raised for HPR. A huge thank you to Motorsports Gallery, The Avenue Grill, all of the donors, volunteers, and guests for making this such an enjoyable and successful evening.
Make sure to save August 1, 2009 on your calendar for the Grand Opening Gala event at the track! We’ve got some exciting surprises in store for everyone attending the event.
